ED&I is of upmost importance to ICAM, with a steering group that meets twice a year to share best practice, lessons learnt across all institutions and present at the Annual Conference. ICAM’s key objective in this area is to support an ethos of continuous improvement in ED&I.
An established flagship ED&I initiative within ICAM is the Kathleen Lonsdale Research Fellowship, launched in 2018. This fellowship fully supports outstanding academic researchers at the beginning of their independent research career, whose personal circumstances require a flexible working pattern or additional support.

The fund is available to offer extra support to all members of ICAM on matters regarding wellbeing, equality and diversity.
There are many reasons you may wish to apply to the fund, such as purchasing a personal piece of equipment to aid working with a disability or to help organise an event to celebrate pride at your institution.
