Current Opportunities

High Throughput Electrocatalysts Discovery for Water Oxidation in PEM Electrocatalysis at Imperial College London

Applications are open for a funded PhD position looking into the scaling up of Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) water electrolysis for the production of green hydrogen. Titled, “High Throughput Electrocatalysts Discovery for Water Oxidation in PEM Electrocatalysis”, the aim of this PhD project will be to discover stable and efficient catalysts for the anodic oxygen evolution reaction in PEM electrolysers.

Starting in October 2022, the position is based at Imperial College with some work at the University of Manchester. The studentship is supported by an industrial case studentship, funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council and bp.  The closing date for applications is currently August 2022 or earlier if the position is filled. More details about the position and how to apply can be found via the link below.

Storage of Hydrogen in Nano-Confined Hydrates at Imperial College London

ICAM is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to study for a PhD at Imperial College London, exploring the feasibility of storing hydrogen in water clathrates stabilized within nanoporous materials.

This is an industrially-funded CASE 4-year PhD position, funded by bp and EPSRC and only UK (home) students are eligible to apply. It is aimed at 1st class undergraduate students of Chemical Engineering, Physics, Materials, Chemistry or similar disciplines who have confidence in coding, and ideally some background in molecular simulations and machine learning.

If you are interested in applying for this position, or would like further information on eligibility criteria and the application procedure, please contact the project supervisor, Professor Erich Muller, at e.muller@imperial.ac.uk  or via the link below.
