Bioenergy

Our Work

Most ICAM Bioenergy research lies in the conversion of CO2 to produce biofuels as an alternative to traditional fossil fuels, with projects covering high temperature electrolysis and different types of catalysis, including biocatalysts, electrocatalysis, non-thermal plasma catalysis, and photocatalysis.

This area also comprises research on the characterisation of Fischer-Tropsch (FT) catalysts and promoters, which will help develop new catalysts for the conversion of CO2 into valuable products, including sustainable aviation fuels (SAF).
